Is rivr financially regulated?

Yes. Rivr is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under registration number 1000665.

Rivr is an Appointed Representative of Innovative Risk Labs, which is fully authorised and regulated by the FCA.

Your policy is underwritten by two highly rated insurers:

Buildings, Contents, and Liability cover

HDI Global Specialty SE (German insurer, A+ credit rating)

Authorised and regulated by BaFin (Germany), and by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK (FRN: 659331)

Legal Expenses and Home Emergency cover

AmTrust Specialty Limited (US insurer, A- credit rating)

Authorised and regulated by the PRA and FCA in the UK (FRN: 202189)

How long does it take to get a quote?

You can usually get a quote in around 5 minutes using our online form. For most clients, you can get a quote, review your cover, and pay online, all within minutes.

In some cases, we may provide an indicative quote, which simply means your application needs a little more attention from our team. 

We aim to be in touch within one working day, and most clients are fully insured within 3 days if we have some follow-up questions (slightly longer if submitted over a weekend or bank holiday).

Can I buy my cover over the phone?

Our online quotation process is super intuitive and fast, but if you prefer you can schedule a call to discuss your needs, and we can get a quote for you. You can schedule a call with a member of our team by emailing hello@rivrcover.com.

Do you charge any additional fees?

In short, no. we don’t charge any admin, cancellation, or mid-term adjustment fees.

Unlike many other brokers, we believe in transparent pricing. What you see is what you pay.

How can I pay my premium?

You can choose to pay your premium annually or monthly.

Annual payments: Pay securely online using any major debit or credit card.

Monthly payments: Spread the cost of your premium over 10 monthly instalments through our finance partner, Bexhill. This option carries an interest rate of 7%, equivalent to an APR of 16.07%.

Currently, monthly payments need to be set up over the phone, as we’re required to read a short regulatory script. We’re working to make this fully online soon.

How long is a quote valid for?

A quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is issued.
